We started our rodeo forays with a rare couples date to see Brad Paisley, one of my very favorite performers. He did not disappoint and neither did the night out with friends.
During Alastair's Spring Break, Kim took off a morning and we all went down to the rodeo grounds. Turns out, it was bargain day AND Spring Break AND St. Patrick's Day, a rare trifecta that we will avoid at all costs in the future. Here, the boys learn about farming at the Agventure area. The petting zoo and, of course, the tractor were all huge hits.

Next up was my Mom's Night Out Rodeo Event. Seems rather more important with caps, doesn't it? The last time we hit the rodeo en mass was two years ago, and some of us are still reeling from the crazy time that night. This year lived up to the hype with a fair amount of dancing, whooping it up (but not in that terrible Aggie sort of way), and limping home with sore feet. We clean up well, don't we?
The last night of the rodeo we decided to take the kids. The frigid temperatures, horrendous traffic, and bitter wind brought back memories of rodeos past. At least it wasn't raining! Both kids were real sports and a good time was had by all. Alastair said the best part was the music: Brooks and Dunn's "Last Rodeo" tour.
