June 10 on 10. Well, 10 on 15.

Summer may kill me.  Swim team at 7:45, VBS st 9:00, two swim meets, and a trip to the lake all in this week had me running from sunup to sundown, and literally running in between to train for my first triathlon in September.   This is Friday, the long day to end a long week.

Not pictured:  swim team round 1.  I forgot.

VBS was a hit.

While the bigs were off at camp and Eleanor was snoozing, I had just enough time to whip up more laundry soap.

Then it was time to rush back off to church for the closing program.  Both kids had songs they performed.  I had a choice when I was walking in between the diaper bag and my camera bag with zoom.  Eleanor had been making some suspicious noises so the camera bag got scrapped.

A drawing for the homeless, labeled for the homeless. That kid cracks me up sometimes.

On the way home from camp, we swung through Chick Fil A and I wrestled everyone into some form of quiet time after lunch.

Which gave me about thirty minutes to chill and read, something I rarely have time for anymore.  Awesome book, by the way, and it is delightfully long.  At my current rate of absorption, it may last two months.

Then off to the swim meet!
They let me write on kids with Sharpies.  No one wanted a mustache.

Little sister arrives and hangs out with her swim team BFF, Charlotte.  Charlotte always has the best toys to play with and Emery is delighted to have girl time.

This kid.  If you have seen him this summer with his hair sticking straight out, consider two facts:
1. He sculpts his hair into a mohawk every time it is wet and then it dries sticking out in all directions.
2.  His mother, depending on the day, has either given up or can't be bothered to slick it back down.

This girl is chill.  She puts up with being toted to all the places she probably doesn't want to go.  She is every swim team girl's darling.

And this girl just thinks she is as old as the kids she is around.  At our last meet, she carried her chair into the 13-14 year old tent so she could hang out with her hero (and babysitter) Audrey.  If everyone Emery has invited to a pool party at our house actually shows up at some point, we'll be in trouble.

She is also a little fish and it is highly likely that she'll be on the swim team herself next year.  Then it will be Emery bringing along little nail polishes and stickers for the guppy tent.  At this meet, Alastair led all the boys in his group to sculpt mohawks and all the girls applied lipstick, makeup, and nail polish before their first race.  I think it was a "shock and awe" strategy to befuddle the other team.
