The twelve days (weeks?) of nesting

On the first day of nesting, my true love gave to me: a new sewing machine! On the second day of nesting, my true love found for me: my electric staple gun! (which was lost in the garage)

Alastair would like to suggest that the editors of "The Toddler Busy Book" add "soot finger painting" to the activity list. Fortunately, the candle was NOT lit when he crawled up here and got the artistic urge.
After staple gun! (And a little sewing machine help for the piping)

On the third day of nesting, my true love gave to me: three buckets of paint!

Soon to be baby's room. That green looks so much better without that red car in front of it... Or that hideous soon to be painted or decoupaged dresser.

Soon to be wonder room: the playroom/office/guest room/miracle room.

On the fourth day of nesting, my true love bought for me: four hundred flat packed boxes from Ikea.

On the fifth day of nesting, my true love gave to me:
FIVE DAYS TO ASSEMBLE!

We are installing these cabinets and counter tops next weekend. Which will begin the next eight days of cleaning/nesting. And a whole bunch of freecycling.

To be continued...

I leave you all with some photos from Alastair's recent fire station tour. We both got to go down the fireman slide (yes, I fit) and he got to walk through a real truck. VERY exciting stuff.
